The Professional Services Consultant is responsible for working with clients who have recently purchased Ascentis products. Our Consultants focus on delivering consulting services during the entire implementation process. Consulting duties consist of gathering business requirements, designing holistic solutions, configuring applications, testing solutions, educating clients, and helping drive user adoption. Needless to say, our consultants wear many hats, but their role is vital to getting Ascentis users started on a path to success. The client’s leadership and broader user community should walk away from the implementation with positive expectations for this solution and have a solid foundation to a long term relationship with Ascentis.

Where does this role fit in?

The Ascentis Professional Services team consists of Consultants and Project Managers and is led by our Director of Professional Services. The Director of Professional Services reports directly to the VP of Client Services who reports straight to the CRO. This streamlined leadership structure allows our Professional Services team to have direct communication with our Client Services leadership, creating a team centered on transparency and cohesion.

What is a day in the life of a Consultant?

Our Consultant’s workday is predictably unpredictable. Nearly every day will include multiple meetings with clients in your portfolio as you lead them through the different stages of an Ascentis implementation. Flexibility is key as you will often find yourself taking on one client call focused on understanding their business needs, moving to another client call focused on planning to “go-live”, and then maneuver to another client call to deliver training. If it isn’t obvious yet, organization and the ability to balance multiple clients and varying needs is critical to this role’s success. Additional core expectations of the Professional Services Consultant include:

  • Productivity – Consultants can expect to carry between 8 to 15 active implementations at any given time, with the expectation to close an average of 15 projects every quarter. Clients will range in both size and complexity. Daily deliverables/assessments for each client are documented in SalesForce for cross departmental-visibility and reporting.
  • Quality – A consultant will be measured on the mastery of their concept and skills as evidenced by the application’s configuration as well as the leverage between business needs and supportability. Quality will also be measured based on client feedback and survey scores.
  • Impact/Innovation – Ascentis highly values impact and innovation. Consultants are expected to participate in the collaboration and development of processes and innovation within the Professional Services team and Ascentis at large.
  • Learning – Ascentis fosters an environment of continuous learning, both for product knowledge as well as professional skills. All consultants will actively share knowledge so all can benefit from the collective wisdom.
 
Position Requirements
  • Strong logical, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to give persuasive advice and guidance to clients, leading them down a path to the best possible outcomes.
  • Strong technical aptitude with above average excel skills – you will need to have the ability to manipulate a variety of data formats.
  • Webinar presentation experience – The majority of training and client interaction takes place virtually via web presentations and online meetings. Consultant must have strong presentation skills in general as well as experience with virtual meeting presentations specifically.
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility – you will need the ability to multi-task in a fast paced and ever changing work environment.
  • Strong and adaptive communication skills enabling you to work with and develop strong relationships with variety of client personalities and learning styles.
  • Ability to function within a defined process, while still having the capacity to see the big picture and step outside the box where appropriate.
  • A team player who is focused on providing an exemplary client centric experience – we need people who are willing and able to share workable solutions and lessons learned for the benefit of the client and the team.
  • 5 years domain expertise in the fields of HR, Payroll and/or Recruiting – PHR/CPP, preferred.
  • 3 or more years software implementation experience, preferred.
