As a Teacher at Devereux's Mapleton School in Malvern, PA, you will work with other dedicated education professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need.

Devereux's Mapleton Residential School provides education for students in grades K-12, and is specialized to serve individuals with Emotional Disturbances, Learning Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Our school typically enrolls up to 60 students. Our Teacher to Student ratio is a maximum 12:1, with one teaching assistant in each classroom. This is also a 41-week position with summers off! As a Teacher at Devereux, you will plan and implement effective instruction to assigned students by planning and preparing lesson plans, establishing a supportive learning environment, delivering instruction, assessing student progress, and providing guidance for support staff.

Position Requirements

Education & Experience: Bachelors degree with PA Special Education Certification. Elementary Ed Certification preferred as well. Experience as a Special Education Teacher strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques – upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches (SPA) techniques.

Job Summary Schedule for this position is: Monday-Friday. Projected start date for this position will be January 2018.
