Foreman -Experienced Door Installer 


Job Summary:

Install door, dock & other related equipment in designated locations in a safe and courteous manner and in accordance with established standards and procedures. Oversee helpers and assign tasks as needed.

1. Manage and execute daily projects (repair and installation)

  • Read paperwork and understand job/ material scope
  • Load truck and ensure all materials & equipment are included and secured
  • Maintain a tight and efficient schedule leaving shop, and getting to each job
  • Install doors, docks & hardware in accordance with established standards and procedures
  • Completely and accurately test installed doors, docks, hardware and other equipment
  • Provide a thorough explanation of doors, docks or equipment, its capabilities and operation to the customer
  • Respond to all customer questions in a courteous and knowledgeable manner
  • Check in and checkout according to customer's requirements. (i.e. IVR, Store phone etc.)
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork including but not limited to work orders, take-off sheets and work orders required by customers
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by manager

2. Oversee and train

  • Understand that you are the direct supervisor to your helper
  • Delegate tasks in a manner that maximizes efficiency & productivity from your crew
  • Note helper's progress and give feedback as requested or needed

3. Maintain truck, tools and equipment assigned

  • Trucks must be kept clean and organized on a daily basis
  • Company tools & equipment are to be maintained, and stored in a safe, secure location on the vehicle
  • Maintain basic truck inventory along with other required equipment necessary for the job
  • Perform weekly truck safety inspection. Report any vehicle safety issues immediately to your direct supervisor or assigned vehicle maintenance personnel

4. Fully cooperate with service & sales department

  • Work a 40 hour plus work week and participate in a rotating on call schedule including weekends
  • Accept overtime jobs as deemed necessary by the Service/Sales department
  • When on call, ensure availability by telephone at all times for service calls

5. Ensure safe practices are followed for yourself and others

  • Setup and maintain safe job site with proper safety equipment
  • Maintain control of all assigned company property and ensure that equipment is maintained in safe operating condition at all times
  • Safely operate assigned company vehicle and ensure that it is maintained according to manufacturer's specifications as well as company standards
Position Requirements


  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in door industry or similar field
  • Ability to provide superior customer service



  • Proven mechanical skills
  • Ability to safely work with power & hand tools
  • Able to read a tape measure
  • Able to work while standing on ladder
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to read, write & communicate in English
  • Ability to understand and adhere to all safety requirements
  • Able to utilize and train helpers



Various work environments indoor & outdoor including working outside in the elements. Lift between 50-100 lbs. frequently, bend and squat frequently. Position requires the usage of power tools, hand tools and will be required to work while standing on ladders. Driving is required throughout the day, must possess and maintain a clean driving record as well as a valid driver’s license. Must be willing to work 40 plus hours and participate in rotational on-call schedule including weekends.
