Description

Provide daily support to NHCPR through installation, troubleshooting, and

support of networked computing devices and stand-alone computing devices. This includes compiling,

configuring, and storing the deployable image for each PC type within NHCPR; compiling patches, hot

fixes, policy settings and other scripted commands for installation on all computing devices within the

command by SMS/SCCM; or whatever means is available and approved for quickest deployment.

The contractor shall perform daily activities such as creating and maintaining PC image configurations,

update, and process all security and other mandated computer policies required to meet or exceed

suspense dates. Applying all policies, updates and configuration changes to End User Device (EUDs)

through the use of Microsoft SMS/ SCCM or other designated software or devices. Provide an advanced

level of technical expertise to staff and users.

In addition to the tasks identified the contractor shall also perform these configuration management responsibilities:

  • Serves as a Senior Systems Administrator for MID at NHCPR
  • Creates master (system) images utilizing approved Government provided software and
  • equipment. All images must be in compliance with DoD, DoN and Local Standards, Instructions and
  • Regulations.
  • Performs integrated testing of applications created for use on the master system image.
  • Leads work with Level I technician in deploying, troubleshooting, and configuring machines.
  • Serves as a senior customer technical analyst providing support to Level I technicians.
  • Works with the information systems security officer (ISSO), senior systems administrator and
  • network operations to test, integrate, or modify systems.
  • Works with Level I technicians on complex customer and system problems.
  • Ensures the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles
  • and practices are understood in the delivery of customer support services.
  • Ensures the application of appropriate security measures for each assigned job.
  • Provides support in a manner that minimizes interruptions in customers' ability to carry out
  • critical business activities. Installs and configures hardware such as workstations, laptops, printers,
  • servers, mobile computing devices, etc.
  • Ensures all supported hardware, software and operating systems are in compliance with Defense
  • Information Security Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), DISA Gold Disk
  • standards, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Information Assurance Vulnerability
  • Management (IAVM) notices and Communications Tasking Orders (CTOs), etc prior to deployment and
  • must remain compliant after deployment.
  • Maintains standard images for supported computing devices. All images must be approved by the
  • Configuration Control Board (CCB) prior to deployment. This includes ensuring all IA controls are
  • implemented; ensuring all approved clinic applications are included; and ensuring compatibility with all
  • Program of Record (POR) systems and other clinic systems. All image builds must be documented and all
  • system managers must sign the document acknowledging their approval of the image testing.
  • Plans, implements, and manages problem management systems designed to effectively recognize
  • report, track, and resolve customer problems.
  • Researches, evaluates and provides feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer
  • support requirements.
  • If the problem is Software oriented, the Level II Technician shall call the vendor and work with
  • both the vendor and the customer to troubleshoot where appropriate.
  • Identifies via the Internet and Intranet, software application patches or hardware drivers required
  • to maintain network security.
  • Records customer service requests into the NHCPR Trouble Ticket System tracking system, verifying
  • customer data, supplying a trouble call ticket number back to the customer.
  • Documents all call and requests for assistance within NHCPR Trouble Ticket System, utilizing the
  • appropriate fields. This should provide a relevant description of the problem, the user's name and
  • location and note any troubleshooting performed over the phone.
  • Develops and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) when required.
  • Records written details and catalog of all current images.
  • Logs all image changes approved by the CCB for each image built including signatures for each system administrator showing their approval of the image testing
 
Position Requirements

Meet the applicable information assurance certification requirements at the time of hiring, including:
- DoD-approved information assurance workforce certifications appropriate for each category
and level as listed in the current version of DoD 8570.01-M; and
- Appropriate operating system certification for information assurance technical positions as
required by DoD 8570.01-M
Bachelor 's degree or five (5) years experience in information technology.

Understanding of the systems administration and configuration control process within the Navy Medicine (or

equivalent) Domain with 5 years experience deploying Navy Medicine (or equivalent) Clinical Applications via

SMS/SCCM, group policy, to include AHLTA, AHLTA Client files, and CHCS.

Demonstrated detailed knowledge of IA concepts and requirements.

Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge DOD military specifications and standards.

System design integration planning for multiple mid-sized-scale installations, to include hardware and

software evaluation, System Test and Evaluation, planning execution and management.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
