PacArctic is hiring a full time Maintenance Mechanic to support PacArctic and our government customer in the Gaithersburg, MD. You must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust. This is a Union position, Local 99.

The Facility Maintenance Mechanics shall have a broad and diverse background ranging from plumbing, HVAC, backup power infrastructures, mechanical, and electrical systems. Each individual shall also have the ability to learn wastewater treatment systems, electrical switchgear operation, and perform all duties that are outlined within these specifications. They will perform PMs, move furniture, perform housekeeping when needed.

Position Requirements


  • Must have experience in Plumbing, HVAC, Mechanical and Electrical Systems
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Must be able to learn wastewater treatment systems (If not already known)
  • Must be able to work up to 10 hr. shifts

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, and includes a combined office and shop position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; bend, stoop, climb; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to stand or sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs independently and lift and/or move up to 75 lbs with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
