Description

Under the direction of the Document Management Supervisor the Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for the daily functions of the Document Management Warehouse (i.e. shipping/receiving, packaging of production material and maintains inventory. This position also entails making local deliveries and pickups and will ensure that production schedules are met. The Warehouse Specialist coordinates the proper and safe loading/unloading of trucks and will be responsible for sorting and palletizing in the warehouse. This person will serve as a liaison to the supervisor and manager regarding daily warehouse functions and challenges.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Operate material handling equipment and other machinery to achieve the supply and demand for the daily production.
  2. Process inbound and outbound inventory utilizing software/hardware mobile inventory and asset tracking systems.
  3. Prepare goods for transport and storage.
  4. Ship products in response to customer orders and prepare and complete necessary paperwork.
  5. Confirm documentation related to goods being transported by in-house truck or van.
  6. Operate truck or van to make deliveries or pick-ups and conduct routine vehicle maintenance/checks.
  7. Receive incoming shipments and creates receiving tickets.
  8. Move materials by hand or operating machinery (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
  9. Assist in accurate inventory counts of goods stored in the warehouse and in the ERC.
  10. Prepare weekly, monthly reports, logs and schedules and assist in the preparation of contract billing.
  11. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing the manual labor associated with maintenance and up-keep of the Warehouse along with utilizing proper safety equipment (i.e. gloves, aprons).
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Ability to respond and work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must encompass professional demeanor.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to drive a forklift and ability to become proficient and certified in operating material moving equipment.
  • Ability to assess emergency situations and act in an appropriate and therapeutic manner.
  • Must possess social discernment to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years verifiable work experience in related field (i.e. warehouse, distribution).
  • Required: Will be required to become certified and operate forklift, pallet jack & hand truck).
  • Required: Current Driver License and a clean driving history.
  • Preferred: Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities.

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and examine documents, records and files.
  • Ability to tolerate stress and conduct tasks and successfully perform under critical deadlines.
