Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Maintains a calm, constant flow of individuals and visitors coming into and leaving the lobby of the Jim Pickens Skills Training Center. Answers switchboard and sends calls to relevant staff.

MONDAY-FRIDAY, 8:00AM-4:00PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Greets and assists individuals, staff, and visitors.

2. Answers switchboard and sends calls to relevant staff.

3. Routes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail.

4. Operates office machinery such as computer, calculator, and copier.

5. Performs light computer entry as required.

6. Scans all old documents relating to individual files and payroll.

7. Requests supplies.

8. Assists in maintaining client data base.

9. Makes appointments and follows up on appointments made for individuals with the counselors.

10. Performs academic assessments.

11. Calls discharged clients to get updates on how they are doing.

12. Schedules, performs, and keeps documentation of all emergency preparedness drills.

13. General supervision and discipline of trainees as necessary.

14. Instructs and supervises trainees in the maintenance and importance of plant rules and regulations.

15. Assists in driving the vans to pick up or deliver trainees as necessary.

16. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

 
Position Requirements

Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines. Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others, plus 7 to 11 months related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Intermediate: Word Processing/Typing

Basic: 10-Key, Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Database, Spreadsheet
