Under the direction of the Craft & Design Center Director, Lead Staff will development, implement, train and supervise Craft & Design Center programs and staff at the Estes Park Center.
Craft and Design Center Lead Staff Essential Functions / Requirements:
- Possesses supervisory, teaching, organizational and customer service skills
- Must possess and arts and crafts background, have worked in the Craft & Design Center or a background in Art Education
- Must be fluent in speaking English to communicate effectively with guests, staff and vendors, in person and over the phone
- Must possess a high degree of human relations skills for working with staff and guest of all different ages, different countries, different levels of developmental abilities and different levels of art and crafting abilities
- Must enjoy working with people
- Must have a working knowledge of computers and various software packages geared towards art manipulation
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and comply with YMCA driving rules
- Must be able to regularly lift 40 lbs up to 10 yards
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Teaches arts and crafts to people of all ages and abilities in a safe environment
- Trains staff to properly instruct guests in all craft sections
- Maintains inventory to ensure that each section has the supplies necessary to accomplish the crafts
- Acts as a 'go to person' for the day to day functions of the Craft & Design Center
- Be a resource for the staff for problem solving on a daily basis
- Resolve employee discipline issues if the Craft & Design Center Director is not available
- Resolve guest complaints and grievances
- Provide for the safety and cleanliness of the employees, guests and property of the YMCA of the Rockies
- Approves staff's electronic time cards and makes schedule changes and corrections for staff as needed
- Develops and implements After School Arts Program
- Be a willing, active and enthusiastic participant in planning and participating in activities and affairs of the YMCA, setting an example for co-workers, staff and guests
- Provide a safe and fun filled creative experience for all guests of The Mootz Family Craft and Design Center

This is a seasonal, hourly (based on 40 hours/week) position, paying $260/week, with employee perks including:

A staff vest or three shirts with the YMCA of the Rockies logo will be issued to each seasonal employee. You will be required to wear this uniform while on duty. A neat and clean appearance is required at all times. Shorts, jeans, are acceptable. Earrings are allowed, however, hoops may be no larger than 1/2". Excessive jewelry may be restricted.

Two references must be someone who know you professionally (former or current manager, supervisor, teacher, professor, coach, pastor, etc.) and one reference must be a family member.
If you are a rehire and have worked at YMCA of the Rockies Estes Park Center, Snow Mountain Ranch, or Camp Chief Ouray at any time during the past three years, references are not required.
