Task Description: Philadelphia Division Intranet (PDI) PHP Developer candidate should have at least 6 years of experience in delivering advanced solutions for a multi-tier, distributed web application. As part of the development team your responsibilities include working closely with other information management team members and the government technical point of contact to transition legacy applications from NSWCPD Carderock Division to the NSWCPD Philadelphia Division Intranet. In addition, the selected candidate will support and modify existing legacy applications. Qualified candidates should have: Shall have a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technology related discipline. 4+ years of experience in a professional LAMP development environment. An understanding of RESTful API’s and modern web frameworks. Knowledge and ability to understand enterprise level architecture. Experience in Agile methodologies and SCRUM desired. Strong PHP, Javascript, HTML, CSS experience is required to assist in development of PHP, HTML and JavaScript code to support PDI. Design and update Oracle database schemas as required to implement technical requirements. Strong ability in Object Oriented Programming and Design is required. Ability to write unit tests and mock objects in PHPUnit. Understanding of a UML based design tools. A solid understanding of containers and virtualized local development using Docker is a plus. Participate in code views and provide constructive feedback. Assist in maintaining, troubleshooting and updating legacy PHP application code Ability to develop new and innovative applications as well as maintaining existing code. Ability to organize & communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical people across functional teams.
