Redhorse Corporation has a vacancy for a Carpenter/Team Lead on a non-personal services contract to lead a team that is tasked to provide repair and maintenance services to support the air operation mission for the 27th Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron (SOCES) at Cannon Air Force Base (CAFB) near Clovis, New Mexico. The team provides performs different types of repair and maintenance services as described on approved AF Information Management Tool (AF IMT) 332 work requests submitted by the Base Civil Engineer.
The Carpenter/Team Lead will coordinate closely with the customer and will lead the team in execution of tasks in the field. The Carpenter/Team Lead is responsible for reviewing the AF IMT 332s to determine the required labor, materials, supplies, and schedule for completion of each required work request; ordering the supplies and materials; communicating with CAFB point of contract (POC) on schedule and project details; performing the work associated with each work request with the necessary team members; and entering the completed project information into the current Interim Work Information Management System (IWIMS) database.
The Carpenter/Team Lead will ensure that the team properly submits their time into the Redhorse time management system daily and will submit weekly and monthly reports summarizing the team's activities to the Redhorse Project Manager. The Carpenter/Team Lead will be responsible for ensuring work is performed in a safe and effective manner and that the team follows plans and specifications for repair and construction to meet customer needs. Carpenter/Team Lead will oversee/perform the construction, installation, repair and inspection of various projects per direction from client.
Minimum Basic Requirements for Skills, Experience, Educations and Credentials for the Carpenter/Team Lead include:
High School Diploma or equivalent
10 years related experience as a General Carpenter and/or Foreman
Demonstrated experience as a team leader and supervisor of other employees
Demonstrated experience as a skilled carpenter
Previous experience supporting repair projects for military installations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license and be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation that includes a review of your previous three years of driving history
Ability to learn new systems quickly from staff, supervisors, customers and end users
Organizational, written and verbal communication skills that are commensurate with the ability to motivate and manage a team to deliver quality results for a customer
Working knowledge or OSHA and other state and federal health and safety requirements for construction sites
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job safely, to include:
The ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains in all seasons, indoors and outdoors
The ability to lift as much as 50 lbs. and carry it for distances of 20 yards or more
The ability the operate manual and power tools safely in the manner in which they are designed to function and for the jobs for which they are designed to be used
The ability to operate a government-owned motor vehicle safely
