Share Email Opening Title Production Intern, OHP  Description Job Summary: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' Oral History Projects department is seeking an intern to work with OHP staff to assist the team with production activities. The intern will support the coordination of the department's Visual History Program, a video recording initiative that documents the history of film from the perspective of filmmakers, technicians and craftspeople. The intern will also help support national and international production trips, as well as ongoing local and subject-specific recording initiatives. Reports to the Senior Manager of Oral History Projects This is a temporary part time internship, approximately 2 days per week, for the period October 2017 to June 2018. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with a project focused on migrating data and improving internal databases for recommended and upcoming interview subjects Assist in documenting subject priorities according to recommendations compiled from Members, Programming, Film Archive, Library, and Alliance partners QC video material and provide editorial notes to staff Assist department staff with tasks related to transcription, DVD authoring, labeling, QC and updating inventories Draft call sheets Assist with production scheduling, logistics, and reports for national and international interview shoots Assist in shoot logistics and coordination (runner)   Position Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in film or communications Interest and enthusiasm for video production Interest in oral history and in the development of an important resource on the craft of filmmaking Excellent research, writing, and communication skills (both written and verbal) Highly collaborative Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and problem solving skills Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and take creative direction Preferred: Knowledge of and interest in the history and craft of film Experience in various aspects of video production Knowledge of oral history interviewing standards and techniques Experience or interest in working with talent Fluent in written and conversational Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and/or any language Japanese, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil speaker strongly desired   Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time   Position Production Intern, OHP   Location Hollywood   About the Organization The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is a global community of more than 10,000 of the most accomplished artists, filmmakers and executives working in film.
