CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS Work with the Sales and Engineering teams to follow and evolve an effective pre-sales process for customer requirements gathering, and develop best practices for sharing this knowledge internally. Assist design engineers with translating customer requirements into detailed solution designs. Technical Sales Relationship Own the technical relationship with strategic sales prospects, promote and engage them in proof of concept trials, and be responsible for ensuring that Activu wins product/solution evaluations. Conduct technical requirements gathering at customer sites Discuss, articulate, and demonstrate solutions that address operational challenges with prospect’s staff. Manage prospects’ Proofs-of-Concept Work with sales team to formulate account strategies for persuading users and closing the technical buyer. Draft high-level solution designs in concert with our design engineering staff. Domain Knowledge To perform these responsibilities, the Sales Engineer must continually develop and expand his/er industry, product, and system implementation knowledge Be comfortable and in command to demonstrate products to small and large audiences Develop competitive knowledge and leverage it in the sales cycle Be a trusted advisor to Activu prospects Competencies BS or MS in Business, Engineering or Computer Science Strong IT skills including Windows based software and enterprise networking. 5+ years experience within the software or technology systems industry A minimum of 2 years experience working in a technical solutions-based pre-sales capacity Experience in client needs analysis, and translating these into high-level system design Must have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills Expert proficiency with MS Office, including Visio (knowledge of AutoCAD a plus) Proven analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work as a team, yet work eagerly and independently on complex problems Exhibits excellent project planning and time management skills |
