Job responsibilities will include: Maintaing current network components and systems, inclusive of routers, switches, firewalls, servers, workstations, mass storage devices, printers, scanners, and special purpose appliances. Perform systems administration functions on servers running Windows, Linux, and VMware ESX and Windows/Linux workstations. Maintain and enhance network and systems security to protect from unauthorized access, malware, and other cyber security threats. Install and configure new network components and systems. Perform upgrades on existing network components and systems. Monitor network and system components, troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain optimal uptime. Research and identify new network and system solutions to continuously improve overall network/systems performance and operations. Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues to the enduser community. Associates degress and exceptional directly related work experience may be considered for substitution of the degree requirement for highly qualified candidates. Senior level candidates should have 5 or more years of experience in several of the below listed technical skills. Mid level candidates should have 2 to 5 years experience in the below and junior level candidates can have 0 to 2 years. Certain positions may require the Comptia Security+ certification or obtaining it within 6 months of start date. Certain positions may require Comptia (or similar) Windows or Linux OS certification or approved training completion within 6 months of start date. Certain positions may require an active security clearance at the Secret level or better. Cisco, Microsoft, Linux, and VMware Certifications are preferred. Technical: Solid experience performing all aspects of Windows and Linux server administration. Experience with VMware. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining network components - routers, switches, firewalls, etc. Experience implementing network improvements. Installing and configuring new systems from scratch. Knowledge of system vulnerabilites and security issues. Experience with network and system intrusion detection and scanning tools. Experience patching systems and performing other cyber security threat avoidance actions to maintain proper cyber security protection posture.
