Description

Koniag Information Security Servcies (KSS) is looking for a Disaster Recovery Specialist to join our team in the Albuquerque, NM Metro area. Pursuant to PL 93-638, as amended, Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are a member of a Federally Recognized Native American Tribe.

Koniag Information Security Services (KSS) is looking for a Disaster Recovery Specialist to support a Network Design and Systems Analysis effort for our customer experience to join our team.

Functions, Responsibilities and Duties:

The Specialist:

  • Responsible for preparing total level contingency plans for system software, hardware, and applications for the client organization.
  • Implements procedures to ensure business applications continue to function through disruptive incidents within an organization.
  • Develops and maintains various security controls to protect technology assets from internal or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction.
  • Provides reports regarding effectiveness of data security and makes recommendations for the adoption of new procedures.
  • May oversee and facilitate the preparation of an organization-wide business resumption plan. Responsible for ensuring the business resumption plan adequately addresses the organization’s requirements and established timeframes.
  • Responsible for day-to-day security administration of the organization or client’s data systems and data networks, including systems access administration.
  • May be assigned responsibility for the management of the contingency and disaster recovery function, including associated staff.
  • Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
  • Will be required to review current IT assets, network architecture; systems, and supporting systems, resulting in an AS-IS and TO-BE “blueprint” which will define those internal systems which should be moved to the cloud; how to apply continuity of operations to those systems as well as disaster recovery.
 
Position Requirements

Education, Experience & Skills:

The Specialist will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-7 years of experience.
  • Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts.

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
