Description

The Pollution Prevention/Recycling Specialist (PP/R Specialist) will work with Government management and key 9th Mission Support Command (MSC) personnel to develop a detailed plan of action and schedule for the Pollution Prevention, Solid Waste and Recycling Programs as well as the EESOH]MIS (hazardous material management program and database). The PP/R Specialist shall plan and lead the effort to analyze current 9th MSC business processes associated with implementation of the Pollution Prevention Plan, Solid Waste and Recycling Programs, and shall conduct periodic internal compliance inspections to determine compliance with existing federal, state, and territorial environmental statutes. The PP/R Specialist shall work with facilities located in Guam, Saipan, Alaska, American Samoa, and Hawaii facilities located on Oahu, Maui, and Hilo. In addition, the specialist shall provide consultation support to external assessment teams, notably the Facility Engineering Group, during external compliance assessments and external regulatory inspections as needed.

Essential Functions:

1. Develop and implement Pollution Prevention Plan and active recycling program.

2. Perform internal audits and client reporting.

3. Maintain client files for third]party audits.

4. Respond to regular occurring requests for information.

5. Provide Training (will require travel to U.S. and U.S. territories)

6. Act as a liaison for the client.

7. Work independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects. Acts as project manager for special projects at the request of the Client which may include: planning and coordinating multiple presentations to Senior Leadership, and coordinating awards.

8. Additional services, as requested by the Client

9. Maintenance of the EESOH]MIS database.

 
Position Requirements
  • High School diploma (college degree preferred)
  • Three years of compliance and/or project management experience in pollution prevention, recycling, or environmental programs
  • Must be willing to travel
