The Department of Dentistry at Fenway Health is a state-of-the-art dental facility utilizing the latest technologies in patient care and treatment. It is our goal to be able to provide our patients with access to high-quality oral health care. The following position is now available within the Dental Department at Fenway Health:

Dental Assistant

This position requires work on evenings and Saturdays.

The Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the Dentists and Dental Hygienist in the direct provision of primary care dental services to patients. The Dental Assistant should be a qualified individual to assist the Dentists and Hygienist in the care and treatment of patients.

Typical duties will include, but are not limited to: regulating patient flow within the clinic; strictly adhering to infection control protocols and policies regarding the sterilization of dental instruments; four-handed chair-side assisting; providing laboratory communication; impression-making and pouring; fabricating temporary crowns; making custom trays and bleaching trays; communicating dental supply inventory needs; and having excellent customer service skills. The Dental Assistant may also be required to assist in front end operations as needed.

Position Requirements
  • Have a minimum of two years related dental experience, preferably in a health center or multi-practice setting
  • Current Radiology certification
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in collaborative team environment
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
  • Current CPR (BLS) certification
  • Certified Dental Assistant Preferred
  • Experience working in an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse environment preferred
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required
