GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The 3 Great Loves Regional Ambassadors will serve as the liaison to the United Church of Christ’s Congregations and Conferences. These individuals will be responsible for providing support for the 3 Great Loves Calls to Action, 3GL Spotlight program, and UCC Conferences. This is a remote position responsible for all conferences East of the Mississippi River. This position is part-time, 10 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide regional support for the calls to action:

    • Connect with congregations to encourage and support their responses to the calls to action

    • Follow up with congregations that have not completed the 3GL reporting form

  • Support the 3GL Spotlight program

    • Encourage local congregations to submit nominations for 3GL Spotlight Awards

    • Update content on the 3 GL website and promotional outlets with 3GL Spotlight Award winners awardee information

    • Review nominations and serve on selection committee for the 3GL Spotlight Awards

  • Coordinate with Conference Ministers, Conference Coordinators and CHHSM affiliates to ensure 3GL is adequately supported throughout the denomination

    • Serve as a point of contact for 3GL in their region

    • Communicate feedback from the Conferences and local church’s as it pertains to the 3 Great Loves initiative

    • Remain in contact with the Conference Coordinators via monthly email check-ins and quarterly ZOOM meetings.

 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform successfully in this position.

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, or a combination of academic study and experience;

  • Understanding of (or willingness to learn quickly) UCC structures, including local church, Association and Conference structures;

  • Demonstrated ability to be entrepreneurial, creative and results oriented;

  • Demonstrated initiative and commitment to achieving and exceeding goals;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills;

  • Desire and sensitivity to work in diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and religious settings with commitment to pluralism in the workplace as well as in one’s understanding of mission;

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships

  • Committed to creating a Just World for All

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, collegially and independently;

  • Willingness and ability to travel within the United States

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current experience working in a United Church of Christ local church or conference setting.
