Summary Position Statement:

Position provides administrative support for the overall program operations and staff. Position also provides oversight of center-based intervention services for families with children 0-3 years of age with developmental delays under the supervision of the ILP professional.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Assists program director in overall organization and office management of the program.

  • Assists with maintaining up-to-date and accurate files and data in accordance with ILP program and Medicaid standards.

  • Assists with center-based services (groups) to facilitate development and provide families with training and support under supervision of ILP staff.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and promotes a positive professional working relationship with all staff and children and families involved with ILP services.

  • Assists with organizing client master files and program files.

  • Schedules therapy and consultant appointments as needed.

  • Enters data on ILP state database as directed.

  • Maintains ILP classroom, therapy room, toys, resources area, and storage areas so that they are clean and organized.

  • Assists program staff in ordering supplies and equipment and developing special instructional materials as needed.

  • Develops program newsletter and program flyer.

  • Keeps and updates program mailing lists.

  • Understands and complies with all agency policies and procedures.

  • Ensures confidentiality as prescribed by agency policy and federal/state law.

  • Attends, participates in, and records minutes in meetings, committees and training as assigned.

  • Provides clerical support to program director and staff as needed.

  • Performs other administrative duties as requested by ILP Director.

 
Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required. CPR and first aid certificates required within 30 days of hire. TB test required. Applicant will be required to undergo a successful DHSS criminal background and fingerprint check, prior to employment.  Driving is a requirement of this position and applicant must be at least 21 years old,  possess a current Alaska Driver’s License, have been a licensed driver for at least three years, and provide Agency with proof of current Auto Insurance Coverage and successful State Motor Vehicle “Full History” Driver’s Report, prior to employment.

Licensure:  N/A

Minimum Experience:  1-year experience with overall office organization and clerical duties preferred. 1-year experience working with young children and families preferred. Experience working with people with disabilities and from various cultural backgrounds also preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in the use of computers for word processing, publisher, spreadsheets and other applications.

  • Strong organization, documentation, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with other staff.

  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Effective problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of child development.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform sedentary and active work that requires some lifting, carrying, and getting on and off the floor. Visual acuity necessary to utilize a computer monitor throughout the course of a normal workday. Ability to perform repetitive keyboarding activities and operate general office equipment.

Working Conditions:  Work is primarily performed at the REACH office but also requires traveling in the community as needed.
