Koniag Information Security Services is hiring a Sr. Project Manager to work at our customer’s site in Arlington, VA. This is a direct, full time position with our company. Must have a current/active Secret clearance.

The project manager manages the execution of individual project(s) within the program. He or she coordinates time, budget, and resources and delegates tasks across the team. The project manager reports to the program manager regarding project status, issues, risks, etc.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages execution of SDLC processes; Agile and Waterfall, to plan, execute, monitor, and control IT Projects. Defines project scope and schedules while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepares and distributes progress reports; manages risks and issues; corrects deviations from plans; and performs delivery planning for assigned projects
  • Ensures conformance with project task schedules and costs. Develops and maintains project plans, resource utilization schedules and budget materials for multiple simultaneous projects and operational activities
  • Manages project risks and issues and taking corrective measurements. Monitors resources, tasks, risks and milestones. Makes course corrections using defined change control procedures
  • Coordinating the projects and their interdependencies. Managing and utilizing resources across projects. Assists in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members
  • Manages project stakeholders. Support the Product Owner/Sponsor in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance.
  • Managing quality control of project deliverables. Defines and manages a well-defined project management process and champions ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management.
Position Requirements


  • Must be a US citizen and possess or be able to obtain/maintain a SECRET clearance;
  • Masters with 2 to 3 years’ experience or Bachelors with 4 years’ experience
  • At least 5 + years of IT Project Management experience leading staff of 5 or more employees and projects of $2M or greater in value
  • Must be highly organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in generating high quality contract deliverables including Status Reports
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project
  • PMP Certification
  • 1+ year experience supporting business information systems within the building design construction, property management or real-estate industry
  • Experience utilizing project and program management methodology and techniques
  • Ability to work positively with the project stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Experience managing budget and resource allocation procedures
  • Proficiency with Agile Development processes

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
