Summary:

The Recruiter will be responsible for building the staffing and diversity function to support the growth of our organization. The individual will develop systems and processes as well as recruit top tier talent for a variety of positions across the Academy in addition to furthering the Academy's diversity goals. The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated self-starter who is proactive, analytical, has a passion for recruiting, and a demonstrated understanding of how to actively source diverse candidates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with management to develop staffing strategies and initiatives for current and future needs.
  • Own and drive recruitment strategy and results.
  • Work with hiring managers in assessing talent needs, developing position specifications and identifying desired competencies for roles.
  • Ability to define and implement a comprehensive diversity recruiting program.
  • Develop partnerships to develop a pipeline of diverse candidates.
  • Manage all aspects of the full recruitment cycle.
  • Maintain a high level of industry awareness and market intelligence in terms of hiring trends, labor shifts, market unrest, and compensation challenges.
  • Identify opportunities to strategically source and build pipelines in anticipation of short and long term hiring needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations. Ensure interview and selection techniques and documentation are in compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and guidelines.
  • Use the latest sourcing tools and techniques to creatively identify talent, as well as more traditional sources including resume boards, online social media, networking, and referrals.
  • Establish touch points and be diligent with follow through.
  • Other human resources duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements
  • Must have 3-5 years of solid recruitment and/or human resources experience; non-profit recruitment with emphasis in arts and museum desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Must have experience with various candidate sourcing resources and social media recruitment platforms.
  • Strong team player and strong client/customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully implement staffing program and guidelines.
  • Proven experience collaborating and making recommendations to management.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws and general business practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with staffing and HR systems such as applicant tracking, HRIS, and onboarding programs.
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships internally and externally across the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communications; exhibit a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized, with excellent follow-through skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with the ability to juggle priorities and manage time to effective meet deadlines.
  • Proactive in asking questions when needed and resourceful in solving problems.
  • Able to anticipate needs and act upon requests independently.
