Resource Efficiency Manager Level III

Redhorse Corporation is hiring Resource Efficiency Managers (REM) Level III. The REMs will provide comprehensive energy management services to help the customer reduce energy costs and consumption. The work location for these positions will be on Fort Irwin, near Barstow, CA.

Duties will include:

  • Developing and implementing energy management program initiatives and projects;
  • Developing distributed generation opportunities and renewable energy projects;
  • Conducting energy training, performing design reviews, analyzing energy and utilities data, and making improvements to facilities operations and maintenance;
  • Augmenting existing customer capabilities, to include working in a team framework; and
  • Advocating to facilitate action and energy and cost savings.

Position Requirements

Minimum Basic Requirement for Skills, Experience, Education and Credentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 9 years of experience in energy management or engineering, preferably at military installation or 4-year degree with 12 years of energy experience
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is required
  • Knowledge of utility rate/tariff structures and ability to analyze billings
  • Experience with energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, and building/facility operations
  • Working knowledge in the use of bin, heating degree-days, and other simplified methods of energy calculations
  • Familiarity with Executive Orders, ESPC, DSM, utility privatization, and other legislations and regulations related to energy programs
  • Understanding of the ESPC program including Measurement and Verification protocols
  • Ability to develop and implement an energy awareness program for federal installations or private sector facilities
  • Previous experience working at military installations is a plus
  • Well-developed verbal and technical report writing skills
  • Working knowledge of standard office computer software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • Ability to pass a government background investigation and be granted a Public Trust security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship required
