General Position Description:

The administration of medical services. Responsible for ensuring the well-being of patients and for providing a positive, supportive environment for patients and other staff.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the practitioner with examinations, procedures, and other duties. Responsible for screening and triaging patients and updating medical records.
  • Collects and documents vital signs. Collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Reviews and properly handles test results.
  • Prepares exam rooms, including maintenance, cleaning of equipment, and stocking of supplies.
  • Assists with patient call backs; scheduling physician referrals; obtaining insurance information for specialist's referrals and pharmacy issues; and patient's education.
  • Perform duties in accordance with the customary rules of ethics and conduct of the applicable State Board of Nursing and other such regulating bodies.

Working Relationships:

  • Clinical Operations Managers and Directors.
  • Center Manager, center staffed based team-members including providers and non-providers.
  • Administrative clinical partners.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing. Current state LPN licensure and BLS/CPR certification required.
  • At least two (2) years of clinical experience in related field is required.
  • Current IV Certification (per state requirements) required. Must be proficient with IV skillset.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practices.
  • Exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential patient issues and situations.
  • Learn computer software programs; enter and maintain accurate data and statistical information in order to consistently prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials.

Working Conditions:

Center-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting, the ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. Additional requirement: Travel to other centers. Generally scheduled 12 hour shifts, hours may vary based on location and business needs. Hiring manager will provide details.
