Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.One (1) year merchandising experience with competency in building effective displays, stocking, inventory control, and maintaining price book in retail or related field.

2.6 months customer service and Cash handling experience.

3.High School Diploma or GED.

4.Sensitive position - requires background security clearance.

5.Hands on experience with Point of Sale, margin analysis, and price book.

6.Computer literate, and experience with Excel, Word, Outlook programs, and price book.

7.Physically able to stand for long periods of time, bend, and maneuver large bulky items up to 50 lbs.

8.Must have flexible schedule, and able to work weekends and holidays when necessary.

9.Must possess professional and effective communications skills - and ability to verbally describe and respond to both internal personnel and guest needs.

10.Must present a professional appearance with strict hygiene standards.

 
Description

JOB SUMMARY
Assists in maximizing sales by providing point-of-purchase and shelf management services with quality results. Inventory control on product range, ordering, receiving, counting, tracking, and restocking. Set store displays, dust/clean product, displays, and shelves. Effectively assist training others in team. Greet and help the public in an informed and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.Assist Merchandise Manager communicating with suppliers/vendors for product cost negotiation, guarnteed product credits, managing stock levels, ordering stock, merchandising stock, building effective displays, and completing necessary paperwork.

2.Work with Merchandise Manager to ensure products are rotated and displayed to maximize customer interest and sales through knowledgeable presentation.

3.Assist Merchandise Manager controling stock levels based on business needs, forecasts, and seasons. Analyze best sellers, price points, styles etc., ensuring full potential while monitoring slow sellers and taking action. Develop, track, and monitor promotions.

4.Receiving merchandise with the approved inventory software system and verify against order placed and invoice total while evaluating condition of product and merchandise received.

5.Assist maintaining price book, and inventory. Ensure that product description entered into the system is per company standard, and that pricing is consistent with budgeted COS.

6.Handle inquiries promptly and efficiently. Promote customer service and internal standards by treating both customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect.

7.Promote work place practices that are friendly, healthy, and are conducive to business needs. Promote employee friendliness, safety, security, confidentiality, adherence to applicable policies, laws, codes and ordinances.

8.Must be a self starter with superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and capability to research and problem solve.

9.Maintain an organized, comprehensive library of appropriate data related to vendors, merchandising, and inventory control, with the ability to provide related reports and feedback as requested.

10.Stay apprised of new products, gender based trends, and products for a variety of age groups.

11.May require operation of POS system.

12.May require occasional travel.

13.Other duties as assigned
