JOB SUMMARY

The Product Program Manager manages AES Cabin Products after they have moved from Development to Operations. This person has responsibility to address and resolve issues that occur upstream in our supply chain, internally in our production, and in the field during use. The Product Program Manager addresses a broad scope of issues and bring them to a successful conclusion for Astronics and our customers.

The key performance objectives for this position are described below:

Cross-functional Leadership: In this role, the Product Program Manager will own various mature product lines and act as the liaison between operations and development engineering during new development product cycles and will:

  • Lead cross functional teams around their product lines to address: production problem resolution, field return failure investigations, obsolete parts planning, etc.

  • Drive schedule, quality, and other metrics as appropriate.

  • Be a process owner for internal processes related to team tasks.

Product Management: In this role, the successful candidate will lead a team performing the following duties:

  • Change coordination and change control to products. Customer coordination of changes will be required from time to time. The PM will ensure operations and engineering are aligned with customer needs.

  • Work with supply chain to manage production transitions from domestic to overseas and drive cost out initiatives.

  • Work with development to close the loop on lessons learned between old and new programs.

  • Failure analysis and root-cause / corrective-action. The candidate will work with engineering and operations teams to determine failure trends and corrective actions for both production and field return units.

  • Will review internal processes and recommend changes to the processes to improve overall product yield through production.

In summary, the Product Program Manager will have a significant impact on the performance of AES products and the perception of AES from our customers and suppliers

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience/Education: Bachelor’s degree (prefer Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, etc.) or other technical degree) and 8 years related experience. Experience in aerospace industry preferred. Prefer experience in Root-Cause / Corrective-Action, Customer Support, Statistical Process Control, Aerospace Change Control, Supplier Management, and Quality.
