Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

Provide additional support during peak workloads. Position works on an “as needed” basis – the number of work hours are not guaranteed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

  • An employee in this position will work under the direction of a supervisor, journeyman, or foreman as assigned.
  • Provide additional support during peak workloads. Position works on an “as needed” basis – the number of work hours are not guaranteed.
  • Direct traffic in construction work sites.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Grant PUD’s mission, vision, values, strategic plan and Vision 2021. The incumbent should be familiar with these organizational priorities and behave in a way that aligns with these expectations.

  • Understand and adhere to compliance requirements for this position that may include laws, regulations, security guidelines, Grant PUD policies & procedures.

  • Actively participate in all aspects of our safety program, including but not limited to:

    • Following all safety policies and procedures;

    • Alerting supervisors and coworkers to unsafe or hazardous working conditions;

  • Reporting any safety incidents or close calls within 24 hours to your supervisor; and
  • Accepting feedback from supervisors and coworkers regarding your own safety performance.
 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED from accredited institution.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid First Aid card including CPR training, equivalent to the State of Washington requirements for industrial first aid, preferred.
  • Current Flagger certification preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to travel throughout Grant County.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be mentally and physically fit for duty.
  • Physically able to handle flagger signs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to withstand extreme weather conditions for long periods of time.
