Description

OVERVIEW:

The position of CAD Designer is responsible for creating and transforming CAD models into working engineering drawings, and assisting engineers with project tasks and assignments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Using Solid Works, develops 3D models and detailed design drawings that include technical specifications, dimensions, materials, and procedures.

  • Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, layout, or detail components and systems to resolve problems or depict functional relationships.

  • Implements Engineering Change Orders to drawings, BOMs, and parts manual exploded drawings.

  • Maintains lifecycle and revision control of engineering documentation.

  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.

  • Maintain Solid Works document templates, lead Solid Works upgrade deployments, and maintain best practices for Solid Works CAD data.

  • Maintain ANSI Y14 engineering drawing and related documentation practices.

 
Position Requirements

•Proficient in using Solid Works software

•Proficient in engineering drawing, dimensioning, and documentation control per ANSI Y14 standards

•Experience with ERP/BOM systems

•Experience in machining processes, fabrications, and mechanical systems

•Experience with Microsoft applications Word and Excel

•Ability to work independently

•High degree of motivation, efficiency, and accuracy

•Strong mechanical aptitude

•Analytical and problem solving abilities

•Must be able to adjust to a changing work environment, competing demands, frequent changes, delays and unexpected events.
