Visit our website at www.grandrapidschair.com/careers for more details.   Description SUMMARY Under minimal supervision, responsible for all aspects of the shipping and receiving of all products to and from Grand Rapids Chair Company. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned. Understand the realm of shipping clerk function which include: Responsible to ship outgoing materials and prepares records of goods shipped, such as bills of loads; post weight and shipping charges and keeping files of shipping records. Plans and coordinates outgoing shipments. Enters tracking notifications to customers via UTS tools and databases. Responsible for export compliance including NAFTA certificates and document preparation. Ships outgoing materials; verifies correctness of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, etc. Routes goods to the proper departments. Creates electronic packing list and bill of lading to support Grand Rapids Chair Company’s shipping process. Forwards records to initiate accounting procedures. Provides material handling functions or the ability to learn how to drive a forklift. Other duties and responsibilities: Works safely and follows all safety rules and regulations. Keeps area neat, clean and organized according to company standards. Computer skills. Epicor experience preferred. Fluent in English. Willingness to learn. Understands shipment accuracy and in time. Able to work with a flexible schedule. Hours are 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. with some flexibility to stay late. Education and/or Experience High School diploma or equivalent required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
