The Training and Development Specialist is responsible for the management, administration and facilitation of training for employees throughout the organization. This role is responsible for the record keeping and regulatory compliance management in collaboration with the HR department. The incumbent will facilitate, implement and measure training outcomes for employees at varying levels of the organization. The Training and Development Specialist will take ownership of all training programs and records associated with the company's compliance within the state, federal and healthcare related guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Conduct job specific training including but not limited to: new hire orientation, crisis intervention training, abuse, neglect and exploitation prevention, job safety, HIPAA, etc.
  2. Liaison with managers and all training constituents to ensure training needs are met.
  3. Remain aware of best practices and current trends in training and development.
  4. Manage bi-monthly employee orientations and four 'all hands' organizational training days annually.
  5. Build and introduce new trainings when needed.
  6. Update, revise, and create training materials as needed to ensure company compliance.
  7. Support Human Resources as an essential member of the department's team.
  8. Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Polished public speaking/facilitation ability for small and large groups.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Technologically savvy; Microsoft Office, database management etc.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to think critically; define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Time management and organizational planning.
  • Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Minimum of four years leading a training/facilitation function
  • Required: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certification or ability to supply certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Required: Reliable transportation.
  • Preferred: Training certification
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Management, Human Services or related field.

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and examine documents, records and files.
  • Ability to travel to various work site and work varied hours when needed.
