Supervise and coordinate activities of maintenance department. Oversee department and assist the Production Manager in making sure that departmental goals are met. Schedule and direct maintenance employees in performing daily work. Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve work problems & assist employees in solving work related problems. Coordinate and supervise the development of the COGZ preventative maintenance system. This includes the scheduling of Saturday work to complete preventative maintenance operations. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and efficiencies as they relate to production & maintenance. Work closely with Production Manager & Production Supervisors in ensuring production goals are met by supplying the necessary resources to repair equipment in an emergency basis. Must be responsive to production needs and attend SIS meetings on a regular basis. Provide necessary training for employees within the department and plant personnel as the need relates to maintenance. Maintain conformance with OSHA standards, Ventura policies, and all other county, state & federal regulations as they relate. Appraise employee performance and recommend wage increases based on skill level. Maintain Ventura's policies as they relate to personnel. Advocate safety within in the facility and maintain safety policies within the department. Meet with Production Manager and Purchasing Agent to approve maintenance related purchase request. Review completed work orders to evaluate the effectiveness of the work that was completed.

Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent experience. Associates or bachelors degree is desirable. Previous maintenance or production supervisory experience is preferred. Prior experience supervising personnel and ability to train others. Knowledge of food industry quality standards. Knowledge and application of safety standards. Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with both oral and written materials and to effectively communicate with management and floor level personnel. Working knowledge of computer based tools such as MS Word, Excel, and AS400 with a strong interest in learning to use more sophisticated computer-based tools such as COGZ is essential. An understanding of the value of corrective and preventative maintenance and the aspects of planning and performing such work is desired and will be expanded through training materials and activities.
