The Tuckerbilt (Concrete Transporter) operator is responsible for operating equipment to transport large batches of wet concrete to be poured into pre-cast beds located on the plant grounds both inside and outside of the production facility. This person must have a strong background in the operation of heavy equipment and the ability to work other non-driver positions within the yard when not pouring concrete.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate and control equipment that has a large auger, detachable funnel and sits on a heavy-duty turntable for maximum functionality.

  • Inspect and maintain equipment in accordance with policies and procedures for optimal use when production is ready for daily pouring under the direction of the Plant Manager or Production Supervisor.

  • Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures.

  • Complete and maintain all required safety training, certifications and documentation.

  • Practice proper housekeeping with clean, properly maintained tools and equipment

  • Supporting other areas of the yard during non-pouring schedules.

  • Acts as a backup for diesel forklift needs within the yard/plant.

  • Maintains a safe driving record

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Ability to read and understand general business documents and safety guidelines.

  • Ability to be certified on various types of equipment; Tuckerbilts, diesel forklifts, dozers, cranes, etc.

  • Upholds and supports organizational goals, values and safety guidelines.

Education / Experience / Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two years of similar work experience operating heavy equipment in a construction, plant or field environment.

  • Equipment Certifications or ability to become certified on various forms of equipment within 90 days of employment and maintain accident free.

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (heavier objects with assistance).

  • The noise level is generally loud on the production floor or in the yard. This position works outdoors year-round and therefore subject to all weather conditions sometimes to include extreme cold and heat.

  • The work described will require the Tuckerbilt operator to always wear PPE to include: safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, leather gloves, safety vest & steel toed boots.
