SUMMARY OF POSITION

The QA Manager is responsible for managing the overall quality system at Plant 85; assists various Department Managers within the organization to incorporate quality standards into their functions with the objective of meeting customer requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Daily Quality Activities
    • Serves as main quality contact person for customers on plant level

    • Manage QC lab

    • Review QC data before product ships

    • Incoming raw material cert review and release to production

    • Specification review (finished product requirements)

    • Completes nonconforming material disposition and summaries

    • Conducts product trend analysis

    • Provides data & analysis to Production & Process Control to enhance problem solving and operation consistency

    • Contract review (new customer PO term review)

    • Presents and explains the quality management system and its function to new employees during orientation

    • Serves as Lead Internal Auditor

    • Serves as liaison with 3rd party and external auditors as needed (ISO9001 audits, Customer Audits, etc)

    • Prepares and present quality-related reports for Management Review

  • Complaint management (facilitate deep dives on root cause and corrective action implementation (5 Whys, Fishbone diagram, etc.)

  • Vendor quality management
    • Vendor qualification process (especially critical to support FL requirements).
    • Vendor audits.
    • Supplier corrective action management.
  • Document control
    • Specification management
    • Revision control
  • Change control
    • Vendor change management
    • Internal change management on equipment when critical to quality or regulatory compliance
  • Product development
    • Ensure adequate design records needed (critical to support FL product development GMP requirements)
    • Specification development - use of statistical tools to set specs
    • Ensure specifications in place for raw materials, subassemblies, and finished products
 
Position Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS
• Education/Certification Requirements
o Minimum B.S. college degree
o Experience in ISO9001 systems
o Green Belt certification is a plus
