The Engineering Program Manager will work closely with cross functional teams (software and systems engineering, product management, customer projects, finance, etc.) to drive and program manage software projects. Manage project scopes, schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. This position will be located in Mountain View, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan requirements with Product Management and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle
  • Lead development of project plan, schedule and budget. Drive project execution
  • Lead internal and external cross-functional teams in engineering and validation activities
  • Drive and own the successful completion of projects commits and milestone reviews
  • Coordinate project reviews; communicating project status and top engineering issues to project team and management
  • Plan and manage day-to-day software project activities, including risk identification and mitigation
  • Understand and communicate complex, technical, engineering issues
  • Identify and resolve conflicts, inter-dependencies and program issues quickly and efficiently
  • Drive periodic software cross functional meetings, publish minutes, and manage action items
  • Support Product Management and Engineering team in the operation of the process and use of tools
 
Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

  • 5+ years of Program Manager experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP and Scrum Master Certifications preferred

  • In-depth experience in lifecycle management tools (Rally, Clarity, Jira and others)
  • Expertise in the software development lifecycle
  • Thorough understanding of software development methodologies, values, and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, cross-functional programs
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Be results driven – hold team members accountable, keep team engaged and on task by working collaboratively in a servant leader manner
  • Project management experience in the deployment of leading edge technologies
  • Extensive industry experience and is comfortable working in a cross-functional team environment that is global in reach.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse personality types
  • Superior communication skills and ability to present ideas and material to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Self-confidence to be assertive when taking a position and constructively resolve differences and build consensus
  • Must be a team player
