Summary: Digital delivery is a strategic driver of business success going forward. The function of the Digital Bank Manager includes acting as the “general manager” for River Valley Bank’s internet banks (River Valley and incrediblebank). The manager should have experience in developing new channels and business models, with a deep understanding of the business of banking, and the ability to drive sales and service.

The Digital Bank Manager will be responsible for website bank activities to meet or exceed established deposit and loan growth goals, by attaining new customer relationships while retaining and growing existing relationships. The position may also be responsible to develop staff through ongoing coaching sessions, to ensure that all are personally committed to consistently exceeding customer expectations every time, everywhere. Plans, directs and controls bank sales and office operations, ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed. Plans, directs, and engages other employees from other departments to meet objectives. Maintains daily contact with bank staff, frequent customer contact, and also has frequent contact with industry and community associations in the course of developing business activities. Performs all duties in accordance with River Valley’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values (Customers, Excellence, Ethics, Employees, and Communities).

In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in bringing forward and implementing ideas for innovative products and services, focused on building out core capabilities and features related to online and mobile delivery of products and services. The Digital Bank Manager will have a high-level of experience and knowledge with web, mobile and social media, along with the ability to plan and execute long-term strategy around driving customer awareness, engagement, experience and monetization. This role requires an individual who has a sales mindset and is tech savvy, with the ability to manage not only a team of technical resources, but also resources that deliver customer service to our clients. This position will create a competitive advantage for River Valley, helping the bank achieve its vision with a focus on sales execution and delivery of an Incredible Customer Experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Acts as Senior Subject Matter Expert in terms of industry focus/market competition for online and mobile delivery.
  • Leverage market analysis, competitive knowledge, and customer research to help define product roadmap.
  • E-commerce and transactional expertise. Driving traffic, conversion and revenue.
  • Strategic skills, with the ability to chart the right course and make agile alterations when needed.
  • Strong execution orientation of strategy, with the ability to deliver results despite the complex and fluid environment.
  • Building relationships and using influence across all levels and functions of the organization, and effectively manage conflict.
  • Leadership, by recruiting and coaching strong talent in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrating cultural sensitivity given digital tools may be viewed differently from others in more traditional parts of the business.
  • Create detailed business requirements and use cases. Lead a team of developers, vendors, and others to deliver best-in-class products
  • Perform the role of champion to promote and evangelize the product and new features with marketing, sales, support, professional services, partners and customers.
  • Create compelling demos for internal and external use.
  • Create a roadmap that drives growth and profitability of our online and mobile products based on client needs. Broad and deep experience with online and mobile delivery.
  • Provides sales support on key relationships as well as new opportunities
  • Responsible for understanding the impact of regulatory changes to the product set and driving the necessary modifications to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for all components of client readiness, and colleague readiness (pre-launch activities which require participation from multiple stakeholders – Sales, Implementation, Client Services, Business Services, Marketing, etc.)
  • Displays understanding of treasury and online cash management products and services.
  • Works and demonstrates an understanding of the operational and service sides of the business, as well as markets and financials.
  • Drives product usage and utilizes that information to differentiate River Valley Bank.
  • Translates client needs into marketable product features.
  • Develops and implements written short-and long-term plans for achieving digital branch growth, sales, fee income and service goals.
  • Establishes goals that are: specific and measurable for referrals that include selling and cross selling by product and transactional volumes, all with a consistent emphasis on total customer banking relationships, growing existing relationships and truly delivering a great customer experience.
  • Supervises and participates in the opening and maintenance of all savings, checking, and deposit services of bank customers.
  • Develops, maintains and cultivates community and new business contacts with important market sources to enhance bank visibility and maximize business development opportunities (Centers of Influences, Prospects, Identified Customers, etc.).

Other Responsibilities:

Perform other related duties as required or assigned that are in the spirit of this job description and position as necessary for the Bank and the Department to function effectively.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may have direct reports.
