PacArctic is hiring a full time SSES Support person to support PAC and our government customer in the National Capital Region.

The Soldier Survival Equipment and Systems (SSES) Support person will:

  • Provide the customer with draft requirements documents, draft technical documents, contract document preparation, and special projects.
  • Attend IPT, QPR, and CCB meetings and provide technical input and recommendations to the end-customer. When tasked, the SSES candidate will perform open-source research on emerging technologies; attend TEM with vendors and other USG agencies; coordinate the demonstration of new technologies to end-users; perform testing of new capabilities; and coordinate end-user feedback into the vendor product-development cycle.
  • Prepare and deliver draft Joint Capabilities Documents, to include sample ICD, CDD, and CPD when tasked for customer review and execution.
  • Provide research and provide input for KPPs and other parameters that guide the development, demonstration, and testing of systems.
  • This position requires drafting of work statements, cost estimates, market research documents, and other documentation for government review and approval.
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Support Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be a US Citizen with a Top Secret Clearance with SSBI
  • A minimum of eight years of experience using, maintaining, or acquiring information technology and tactical communications systems.
  • Education in electronics or mechanical engineering may be used as a substitute for experience; 1 year of education = 2 years of experience, up to 4 years.
  • Microsoft Office competency (required)*
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (desired)
  • Professional Writing certification/training (desired)
  • Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Program Management Level I, II certification/training (desired)
  • DAU Program Management Level I certification/training (online - mandatory if hired)
  • Capabilities Development Course certificate (desired)
  • Relevant operational experience in hostile areas (desired)

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to stand for extended periods of time. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Includes travel to local, remote and out of state locations.
