Description

Analyzes the degree of risk involved in extending credit to firms or individuals. The duties consist of processing and analyzing financial statements, flood certs, tax returns, appraisals, environmental, and other related documents. This position will also manage and grow a portfolio of Member Business Loans. This growth will come from existing members and new borrowers from outside of the credit union. Attending marketing events and establishing centers of influence are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develop new loans and deposits from existing portfolio

Manage a portfolio of clients (activities include renewals, extensions, modifications, refinances, new requests, treasury management, and resolving classified portfolio)

Develop new term loans and lines of credit from external sources (centers of influence, direct requests)

Work with Business Development Officers to source and analyze potential loan requests

Analyze and Underwrite credit request and memos for approval

Manage a participation relationships tied to the portfolio

Maintain regular contact with the borrowers and provide the service they need

Negotiate terms and conditions with existing members and prospects

Manage exceptions (bring all documentation, delinquencies, covenant, maturities, and other exceptions to date)

Research market conditions and proper due diligence on all loan requests

Present deals to committee when necessary

Is responsible for compliance with all required regulations and polices, especially with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), NCUA Rules and Regulations, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, Privacy Act, procedures and regulations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have personal computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
