Process Engineer

The Process Engineer assists the manufacturing departments to assure that the production processes are performing properly with respect to safety, quality, and output. He/ She assists in data collection, training, and documentation of assigned projects. The Process Engineer identifies and implements best practices that support continuous improvement and helps develop consistent practices across the shifts.


  • Recommends process improvements to Plant/Production Managers
  • Provides process data as recommended for standard or experimental products
  • Undertakes projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager and supervises through completion
  • Assists Department Managers as required in completing projects and monitoring new processes
  • Assists Maintenance and Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, as required, upon installation of new or modified equipment
  • Assists project leaders when running experimental trials
  • Monitors processes on a continual basis for continuing improvements and/or modifications. Identifies and documents best practices and valued added activities. Provides training to the Operations group as needed in support of the improvements and modifications
  • Coordinates activities of support personnel and manufacturing to resolve process problems
  • Assists in training operators on process awareness, monitoring, and control
Position Requirements
  • Four year College Degree (BS or BA) or equivalent manufacturing experience¬ ¬ ¬ ¬ ¬ ¬
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets
  • Proficiency with word processing documents
  • Basic understanding of computer applications
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills
  • Ability to read and understand complex laws and regulatory guidelines
  • Ability to implement compliance strategies at the plant level including data collection, compliance demonstrations, and process changes necessary to assure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
  • Ability to identify, scope, propose, and implement capital improvement projects as assigned
  • Ability to implement the necessary data collection systems to meet all local, state, and federal reporting requirements
  • Capable of delivering training that is easily understandable
  • Must be able to make observations with respect to safety practices and conditions
  • Ability to work in front of a laptop or PC workstation for extended periods of time
  • Occasional standing, sitting, walking, and talking on the phone
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
