Koniag Technology Solutions (KTS) has an exciting opportunity for a SharePoint Designer/Developer with an active Top Secret Clearance to work at our customer's site in Washington DC.

The SharePoint Designer/Developer will plan, develop, and maintain SharePoint sites utilizing built-in features as well as custom programming. He/she will assess a diverse range of complex business needs and provide substantial planning and development input, direction, and recommendations to internal and external clients.. The SharePoint Designer/Developer will work independently (with minimal guidance from senior SharePoint staff) to implement optimal solutions that facilitate functional requirements and customer processes.

The ideal candidate has experience gathering and implementing customer requirements, presenting proposed solutions, and executing those solutions with limited supervision. Knowledge management experience with reorganizing documents, data and other project artifacts is beneficial.

All development will be front-end customization (no deployment of custom features or web parts); development must be completed using JavaScript/jQuery through SharePoint Designer and/or script and content editor web parts.

Prior or current work experience at the FBI is highly desirable

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of organizational, team, and technical processes; clarifying current goals, issues, and inefficiencies in business and customer functions and SharePoint sites
  • Identify opportunities for improved function or performance through organizational change, process adjustments, and/or technical SharePoint solutions
  • Develop advanced pages, reports, and dashboards using out-of-the-box features and custom HTML/CSS/jQuery (including SPServices or REST services for accessing and manipulating SharePoint data)
  • Provide guidance and support in organizing, maintaining, and administering the client’s program and project information, including documents and data needed to assist in schedule tracking, project status and risk assessment, event scheduling, document review, resource management, reporting, and other program administration tasks
  • Coordinate with multiple units and programs to ensure efficient collaboration and sharing of data, site consistency, and implementation of industry best practices
  • Creating and maintaining SharePoint security groups
  • Developing advanced SharePoint workflows to facilitate business processes, notifications, and data flow
  • Providing timely, professional customer service and support to staff from all levels within the organization, from leadership and senior management to the general workforce; interactions may include requirements gathering, advising, training, workshop facilitation, interviewing, and surveys.
Position Requirements

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
  • 4 years of SharePoint 2013 or 2010 site collection or site owner level administration and development (including SharePoint Designer), with expert understanding of built-in lists, libraries, web parts, web part connections, view manipulation, permission management, master pages, page templates, and other standard site features
  • Comfort with development of intermediate to advanced logic-based SharePoint workflows
  • Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery (experience with libraries such as SPServices ideal)
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and interoperability with SharePoint
  • Knowledge Management or Content Management experience desired
  • Ability to assume lead role in contributing to the development of standards and best practices surrounding the use of SharePoint and Knowledge Management techniques
  • Independent, responsible, proactive work ethic with the ability to prioritize work efforts under tight deadlines
  • Ability to engage respectfully and constructively with multiple stakeholders at various organizational levels
  • Strong organizational, presentation, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to be flexible and learn new technologies or tools quickly

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, perform simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
