JOB SUMMARY

The overriding business objective for the Integration Engineer I will be to learn the design, development, and test of innovative aircraft Power Systems. The key performance objectives for this position are described below:

  1. Develop Innovative Power Systems. The successful Integration Engineer I will leverage their education to learn how to integrate and verify new technology electrical power systems which offer substantial benefits in weight, cost, and/or reliability over traditional approaches. The Engineer will perform detailed design, analysis, testing, and draft the documentation required to successfully launch new products. Engineering technicians, mechanical engineers, and program managers will be provided as support in a team approach. The successful Integration Engineer I will develop the skills needed to troubleshoot AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC power conversion, PCB layout, EMI filtering, and power distribution systems. The successful Integration Engineer 1 will have well-rounded skills including schematic design, PCB layout, software development, test equipment usage and control, and mechanical aptitude, in order to develop the tools and procedures to integrate and verify Astronics innovative power systems. We are looking for high performance engineers with a desire to learn power system product and test equipment development. It is expected within 3 months of hire, the Integration Engineer I will be contributing to the successful development or qualification of an aircraft power product. Within 12 months, it is expected that they can take on a significant portion of the integration and test activities on their own.

The successful Integration Engineer I will work in a cross functional team, including design engineers, technicians, mechanical engineers, program management, software, manufacturing, and supply chain to achieve success.   3. Mentorship and Learning. The Integration Engineer I will develop a collaborative relationship with more experienced systems engineering staff at Astronics to learn from their technical guidance, mentorship, and peer reviews. Evidence of success will be gaining independence in the development process and becoming a contributing member of the team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and/or other technical degree.
