Product Engineer - Interior Systems 

Description Interior Systems
- Work effectively in a team environment with a cross-functional team: design, tooling, CAE, quality,
manufacturing, finance, purchasing, sales
- Create initial product design concepts, as required
- Support Internal PDT meetings and â€'design issue resolution” utilizing engineering tools (DFMEA, etc.)
- Establish effective communications (written and verbal) between customers, internal groups and suppliers
- Provide input to the component and system datum / attachment schemes and GD&T (Dimensional) plan
- Define the manufactured product and release / maintain Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM), including
service parts
- Generate and implement cost savings ideas
- Generate "Request for Quotes" to the purchasing team
- Assess impact of all engineering changes on the product and provide feedback to the design team; Initiate
Inteva change notices
- Review all designs for "Manufacturability" (Draft angles, part break-up, ergonomics, etc.)
- Define plan for prototype builds, including logistics, to support meeting all project imperatives
- Participate in build events and identify the required PDT resources to provide feedback for product improvements
- Create, maintain and execute validation plans; Provide design enhancements as necessary
- Identify potential warranty concerns and offer design solutions
- Create and maintain all design validation records (FMVSS testing, Ex. 302 Flammability) and IMDS requirements
- Provide monthly forecast (spending / collections) to the engineering

- Microsoft Office proficiency: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project
PREFERRED
- Automotive engineering experience
- Basic CAD skills: NX &/or Catia
- Knowledge of injection molding, thermoforming and olefin materials
