Redhorse Corporation has an immediate need for a Technical Editor that will be located in the Bay Area to provide technical editing for a multitude of contracts within all practice areas of Redhorse (Environmental, Energy, Intelligence, and Technology).

The Technical Editor will edit scientific reports, fact sheets, presentations, and other publications that will be submitted to clients, prospective clients, and teaming partners. S/he will use scientific and technical knowledge to prepare documents according to client guidelines and processes, and edit reports for grammar and usage, as well as completeness and consistency of technical content.

Responsibilities for the Technical Editor include:

  • Coordinating the review and editing of technical documents with Project managers and other technical staff, scientists, engineers, and geologists.
  • Review technical documents for grammar, format, completeness and consistency of technical content.
  • Conduct editorial review of publications and presentations for a multitude of clients

Position Requirements

Minimum Basic Requirements for Skills, Experience, Education and Credentials for the Technical Editor include:

  • BS or BA in Liberal Arts, Environmental Science, or Engineering
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Experience editing technical documents for government clients such as the United States Navy, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and California State Water Resources Control Board
  • Adobe Acrobat and Publisher skills
  • Ability to work on a variety of scientific documents
