Working closely with our clients, Professional Consultants guide, build and integrate systems that can help enhance the customers’ business performance. Consultants develop specialized expertise—strategic, industry, functional, technical—in a diverse project environment that’s supported by a highly collaborative and innovative company and team culture.

Core job expectations

  • Portfolio – Payroll Tax Specialist can expect to carry 20 to 40 clients per quarter – in some cases multiple FEIN’s per client. Clients will range in both size and complexity.
  • Throughput – Payroll Tax Specialists are expected to manage the throughput of the projects they participate on to either meet or exceed delivery on implementation milestones as established in the client’s project timeline. The QTD totals for each client need to be balanced, corrected and loaded prior to the client processing their first payroll in Ascentis. There are fast moving deadlines associated with this role.
  • Quality – Payroll Tax Specialists are expected to deliver the highest quality experience as measured by client feedback and surveys.
  • Innovation – Ascentis highly values innovation and efficiency. Payroll Tax Specialists are expected to participate in the collaboration and development of new processes and/or product enhancement suggestions to allow for greater gains in efficiencies in this role.
 
Position Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5 years experience in payroll and payroll taxes
  • Strong logical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Above average Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables), with the ability to manipulate a variety of data formats
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Advanced organizational skills
  • High level of payroll tax knowledge - Ability to analyze a client’s situation and advise client of the resolution
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred

  • CPP
  • 3 or more years HCM software implementation experience
