This belief is reflected in the school’s motto, “Mind the Light.”   Description JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education at the Children's Center. The Assistant Teacher must be able to communicate, actively listen, and work well with others in a team environment. The Assistant Teacher supports and develops positive relationships with children and families. Assistant Teacher is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on the children's interests and needs under the direction of the Lead Teacher and Director. Discretion, respect and ability to maintain confidentiality a must. This part-time position covers the morning hours in the older toddler room of the Children's Center during the academic year.   Position Requirements JOB SPECIFICATIONS: An Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education OR an Associate’s Degree in related field including 18 ECE credits OR Associate’s Degree in Elementary Education and 12 ECE credits OR unrelated degree which includes 30 ECE credits OR Thirty credit hours (including 12 ECE) from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field OR ASB/AST degree in ECE OR Credential, Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education or 6 ECE credits from an accredited college or university OR Forty-five hours of professional development in Early Childhood Education or 3 ECE credits from an accredited college or university.
