The Manager of Client Engineering will be working on the award winning Movimento Unified OTA platform that has been revolutionizing the automotive industry. The candidate will be working on the advanced automotive applications while managing team focused on development efforts on the client engineering. The ideal candidate is an experienced technical manager with expertise in software development and software architecture in the domain of embedded systems or automotive. This position will be located in Mountain View, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage development of in-vehicle client component of the Movimento OTA platform.

  • Work with architects and leads to define & clarify detailed requirements, develop detailed designs, and implement robust, maintainable solutions that meet the business requirements.

  • Work with project managers to perform development with adequate requirements and technical analysis as appropriate.
  • Define and implement development best practices including secure coding, adequate unit testing, code quality checks, and integration with cloud team.
  • Provide solution models and perform code and design reviews to align with architecture direction.
  • Attract and retain top talent to build a world class connected car applications.
  • Ensure compliance of new and existing applications with technology standards and policies.
  • Document system designs, development processes, and functions to improve knowledge management and information sharing.
  • Coordinate and manage development activities with offshore team.
 
Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering field

  • 10+ years of software development experience

  • 3+ years of experience leading embedded software engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering field preferred
  • Proven ability to manage technical teams, including performance management
  • Excellent background in embedded development and high-level understanding of the system design.

  • Previous experience leading a team in an Agile/SCRUM development environment

  • High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience managing resources with multiple discipline and multiple sites.
  • Experience in Automotive industry.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
