The Process Quality Manager is responsible for managing quality activities to assure achievement of product specifications at manufacturing partners and key suppliers for new and renovated products. This role focuses on the qualification and commercialization of new and renovated products, updating quality systems and specifications when necessary for new products, managing issue resolution with new and renovated products, and driving ongoing continuous improvement and value optimization activities.


  • Lead and mentor an innovation and process quality staff focusing on delivery of key business objectives as well as individual development.
  • Design and facilitate line trials to assess capability, qualify and optimize new or modified formulas, processes, equipment, packaging and/or products at new and existing manufacturing partners and at new Tier 2 suppliers.
  • Lead commissioning and launch activities.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of specifications.
  • Develop and manage the implementation of standards and methods for manufacturing processes, inspection, testing, evaluation, etc.
  • Lead core technology equipment design, process changes and specifications meet local regulatory requirements and product quality needs (including cleanability, etc.)
  • Identify and recommend process control improvements on new products.
  • Facilitate change management process with manufacturing partners as it relates to new products, formulations and specifications.
  • Drive Innovation Project Risk Assessments and Mitigation Action Plans
  • Identify and recommend process control improvements on new products.
  • Partner with the necessary individuals/teams to resolve quality issues identified during trial runs and first commercial runs.
  • Analyze and manage consumer feedback by identifying root cause and take appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Drive ongoing improvement as the complaints relate to product design. Share quality related complaint data with Quality Manager
  • Evaluate potential new manufacturing partners ability to comply with UL Quality Managements standards and develop action plans to fill gaps prior to manufacture.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing tools and concepts to drive cost and process optimization.
  • Collaborate with R&D to develop new test/assessment methods.
  • Manage B Corp expectations with Manufacturing Partners.
  • Lead special projects as required.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an applied science or engineering field.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in quality/operations required, preferably in a CPG environment.
  • Demonstrated quality management experience working with contract manufacturers and/or suppliers.
  • Demonstrated management of technical staff.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, statistical process control, structured problem solving and continuous improvement concepts and practices.
  • Exceptional analytical, root-cause-analysis, and decision making abilities.
  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing practices, lean tools.
  • Familiarity with consumer packaging materials/systems.
  • Passion for working in a values based company.

  • Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & other PC applications.
