GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: As a strategic thought leader and member of the leadership team, the position will provide marketing and communications strategy and execution for the Cornerstone Loan Fund, and will assist in the development of new products and new offerings. This includes responsibility for brand standards, collateral and support materials, advertisements and newsletters, and on all platforms. The Director will also be instrumental in affecting sales and assisting with new Product Development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Develop Marketing and Communications strategy

  • Drive short-term and long-term strategic objectives having to do with Cornerstone Fund Brand Awareness, Purpose & Mission Awareness, Direct Marketing and Personal Selling.

  • Oversee execution of strategy by creating (or managing outside resources to create) all Cornerstone Fund marketing and communications materials.
  • Help drive sales, particularly for Investments and Endowed Funds, through the creation of materials and campaigns to drive new business and retain existing customers.
  • Serve as the Fund’s primary creative writer for highly-visible collateral, web content, and/or marketing-communications. Create sales materials (leave behinds, PowerPoint decks etc.) and a library of materials that can be used for workshops, plenary sessions and Synod events. Will act as editor for all newsletters and other publications.
  • Through research and in concert with the President and CEO, identify opportunities for new product development, then prepare business case and operating plan, and run out requirements.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform successfully in this position.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration or equivalent experience plus a minimum of five years demonstrated experience and training.
  • Commitment to and theological understanding and ability to articulate and witness to one’s faith perspective.
  • Knowledge of Financial Services Industry
  • Understanding of the polity and structures, and the resource, of the United Church of Christ.
  • Desire and sensitivity to work in diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and religious settings with commitment to pluralism in the workplace as well as in one’s understanding of mission
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegially as well as independently
  • Excellent written and oral language skills, including ability to conceptualize and develop print resources; public speaking skills
  • Professional experience in writing and editing
  • Ability to write creatively and speak publically in an articulate and engaging manner
  • Ability to travel within the United States as necessary
  • Organizational skills in coordinating, planning, preparing and executing various events
  • An appreciation of and a commitment to the multi-racial and multi-cultural diversity of our faith communion and to justice issues for all people in the global community
