The Product Analyst will play a key role within the Welding Accessories division in managing multiple product categories, with a primary focus on ITW Toolbox implementation to drive top line sales and profitability, positioning the business for long-term sustainable growth.

Key Measurements Include:

  • Revenue Growth

  • Gross margin enhancement

  • Product life cycle management

  • Incremental Growth of Targeted Partners


  • Validate and execute established strategic actions for the following product categories: welding jackets/gloves, gas cutting equipment/regulators and Hobart retail welding safety/accessories

  • Represent categories as key subject-matter-expert for internal team and customers

  • Enhance growth profitability of categories by:

    • Disciplined utilization of ITW Toolbox processes to strategically manage portfolios, leveraging data to drive decision making

    • Improved profitability through cost reductions, pricing strategies and alternative supplier identification

  • Analyze industry trends, customer activity and product applications to determine sales and profit potential. Understand opportunities resulting from changing conditions

  • Generate, analyze, and interpret segment data that leads to product line rationalization and commercialization

  • Analyze market data, including product specific sales, overall sales volume, demographics, competitive product releases and pricing strategies for all product lines

  • Determine product pricing by utilizing market research data and reviewing product, operations, and sales costs with anticipating volumes

  • Understand, prepare, communicate, and maintain competitive landscapes based on competitive product evaluations

  • Evaluate and report on category performance – sales volume, margins, and market share

  • Coordinate all related marketing, sales, and other product implementation strategies to ensure that operations are properly managed and conducted efficiently

Position Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • General understanding of welding/cutting preferred

  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Well organized, aggressive self-starter with the willingness to learn and grow

  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation, and solid decision-making abilities

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Up to 20% travel required
