We operate therapeutic group homes, a treatment foster care program, and family help center located in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County and Prince George County. We also service students in our nonpublic special education programs in Baltimore City and Prince George's County. The Children's Guild also operates public charter schools located in Anne Arundel and Baltimore City and will open our first DC charter school in September, 2015. Role Description:

Responsible for assisting with the administration of the policies and procedures of the Human Resources Department for new hire processing to include but not limited to pre-employment screening and new hire orientations. Provide individual and group training on benefits and other HR offerings. Fidelity to customer service a must.


Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or a minimum of five years experience in human resources.

An ability to organize and prioritize several complex tasks.

A sensitivity toward the nature of personnel related concerns.

An ability to express ideas, both orally and in written form.


This position is accountable to the Human Resources Leader.

Skills Required:

KEY RESULT AREA #1 - New Hire Processing

This KRA is successfully completed when:

a. Scheduling, completion and auditing of all paperwork/tests required for hiring and compliance

b. Create and send hiring packets to hired applicants.

c. Conduct pre-hire procedures and work with the Corporate Recruiter to ascertain pre-hire procedures and paperwork.

d. Follow onboarding and notification procedures with appropriate departments to ensure new employees are set-up with the necessary resources and scheduled for new employee orientation.

e. Paperwork for payroll processing submitted.

f. Fidelity in all data entry functions.

g. Verifies I-9 and documentation and maintains books.

h. Updates compliance spreadsheets for all programs and departments to ensure that they reflect new employees, terminated employees are removed and changes are made to existing employees as needed.

  1. Organizes and maintains department records, ensuring accuracy, accessibility and confidentiality.

j. Processes terminations.

k. Completes employment verifications.

l. Completes all data entry.

KEY RESULT AREA #2 - Benefits Orientation, Processing & Administration

This KRA is successfully completed when:

a. Assembly of benefits orientation packets/paperwork

b. Update of benefits information for packets

c. Schedules and conducts benefits orientation for all new eligible employees

d. Assists with annual benefit enrollment

KEY RESULT AREA #3- Compliance

This KRA is successfully completed when:

a. Assists in maintaining personnel files

b. Assist in monitoring systems to meet accreditation agencies, state and federal mandates.


This KRA is successfully completed when:

a. Assists in the preparation of internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, etc.

b. Available to employees for day to day inquiries.

c. Available to management to advise on disciplinary actions.

d. Facilitate employee grievances.

KEY RESULT AREA #5 - Committees

This KRA is successfully completed when:

a. Serve on committees as requested.
