Koniag Information Security Services is hiring a Senior Acquisition Policy Analyst. This is a direct, full time position with our company, working at our customer’s site in Alexandria, VA. Must have a current/active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI.

Koniag Information Security Services currently has an opening for a Senior Acquisition Policy Analyst, in Alexandria, VA to provide executive level support for Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) level Acquisition Support. The position will manage (under government direction) the DoD CIOs’ engagement in the JCIDS, DAB, and the overall acquisition oversight processes as the primary focal point.

The successful candidate must be prepared to ensure DoD CIOs equities are represented in all acquisition processes, including preparing the DoD CIO representative for OIPTs and DABs. The successful candidate will understand how DoD CIO equities and resultant actions fit into the overall Acquisition and Acquisition Oversight processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading coordination of acquisition related documents/staff packages across the DoD CIO organization, ensure all comments forward for DoD CIO signature cover the spectrum of the DoD CIO mission, and are of a sufficiently executive level for a PSA response. The successful candidate will need to stay continuously informed of the DAB calendar and ensure the DoD CIO remains informed of upcoming meetings and packages to avoid entering a “reactive posture”, and the DoD CIO’s equities are protected. The goal of the DoD CIO’s activities in the DAB process is to help programs get though the process in a manner that protects the DoD CIO’s equities at the least impact to the respective program. The successful candidate will also need to be able to assess the environment and see a solution that allows a win for both the program and the DoD CIO as possible. The skills required for this position are typically (but not exclusively) associated with former field grade officers or the civil servant equivalent with diverse Acquisition careers. Skill and knowledge are more important than background.

Position Requirements


  • Broad experience across the spectrum of DoD Acquisition is key. This should cover the majority of: Service SPOs, PEOs, Service liaison, Service acquisition oversight, DoD Acquisition oversight, with a noteworthy portion of this experience dealing with information systems.
  • Experience with the DAB process
  • Strong knowledge of the JCIDS process
  • Strong knowledge of the requirements and best practices of the Information Support Plan (ISP)
  • Understand the purpose and content of an interoperability Certification
  • Strong knowledge of the content, and function of the Information Support Plan
  • Knowledge of DoD Acquisition Statutory and Regulatory requirements
  • BA/BS college degree required, Master degree desired
  • 14 plus years of experience in the DoD sector preferably as a Field Grade Officer or equivalent Civil Servant grades; 7 years of DoD Acquisition experience required. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a DoD Acquisition Program Manager.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with senior level government managers and team mates during tight deadlines
  • Secret Clearance required; ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI required


  • Experience assembling, refining, and managing Staff Packages at OSD
  • DAWIA level 3 Program Management certification desired

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
