Description

George School, a co-ed, 9-12, Quaker boarding/day school located in Newtown, Bucks County, PA, seeks a full time teacher of world religions and spiritual nurture starting the school year 2017-2018.

 
Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree with a major or minor in religious studies, at least two years’ experience teaching secondary school students, and a personal commitment to spiritual practice. Substantial knowledge and experience of world religions, as well as Quaker faith and practice, is essential. Willingness to fulfill common boarding school duties, including coaching; the ability to work with a diverse student population; commitment to the traditions and philosophy of a Quaker educational community; and a style consistent with Quaker ethos are also important. Successful candidates will have demonstrated the vitality to thrive within a high-energy work environment, and they must possess a genuine appreciation of adolescents, a sense of humor, and the ability to work collaboratively.
