Description

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

The Marketing Manager is a key strategic leader in the Miller Electric Industrial Equipment Division and reports to the Marketing Director. This position will be responsible for development and execution of strategies aimed at increasing market share and penetration within targeted market segments. Targeted selling and core market expansion strategies/tactics will be key focus areas for this position’s drive for share gain. Additionally, this position will work closely with marketing specialists and supervise Product Managers for the development, communication, and execution of the division’s go-to-market and marketing communication strategies for current product.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop the strategic vision for industrial GTM that works accordingly with the North American Sales team's strategies.

  • Generate and drive channel strategies to increase product placement and sell-through; across multiple channels with a focus on targeted end-user direct account management support, GAWDA, and rental channels.

  • Collaborate with field sales to deliver comprehensive value proposition based campaigns designed to increase share with industrial end-markets.

  • Develop and implement targeted marketing campaigns driving appropriate value propositions to market segments.

  • Lead Product Management functions for the division including, managing the 5P's strategy for all products, product line simplification and product life cycle management.

  • Provide leadership and career development coaching to Product Management team

  • Collaborate with marketing specialist to develop product messaging, communication strategies and drive implementation.

  • Drive development of integrated marketing campaigns for existing products (social, channel, direct mail, etc.).

  • Utilize CRM and other data sources to identify top end-user targets, to develop commercial programs, collaborate with field sales to drive successful penetration of existing products to "80" customers and new customers within core markets

  • Analyze market data, including product specific sales, overall sales volume, demographics, and competitive product releases and pricing strategies for product lines and recommend marketing objectives. Participates in the development and generation of marketing reports as they pertain to the product line.

  • Utilize the ITW Toolbox (80/20, PLS, MRD, USa) to drive successful penetration in market segments.

  • Create training programs to inform and support distributors, sales force and end-users.

 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or comparable discipline; MBA preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive marketing and/or product management experience is required.

  • Practical/theoretical understanding of welding processes and related consumables preferred.

  • Up to 30% travel

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and thorough understanding of computer and web-based technology.

  • Must possess good business and financial acumen.

  • Exceptional leadership skills utilizing the ability to lead and drive change.
